Celtic have withdrawn their request to the Bank of Scotland Premier League for a re-vote on the scheduling of the final Old Firm fixture of the season.

The Parkhead club were angered by the decision to stage the crucial Ibrox showdown on Sunday 27 April – less than three days after the UEFA Cup semi-final second leg at Boavista.

But, after a meeting with Strathclyde Police this morning, the club have decided not to follow through with their request for another vote on the date of the game on safety grounds.
