Irish Life and Permanent made 30c (1.6%) to €19.40, while Bank of Ireland was up 19c (1.2%) at €16.35.
Allied Irish Bank gained 20c to €21.32. Anglo Irish Bank was up 3c at €14.40.
Paddy Power made 21c (1.3%) to €16.20.
Food company Greencore was up 5c (1.2%) at €4.15, following its reporting this morning of increased operating profits for the year ending September 29.
CRH was the morning’s busiest share, and gained 9c to €28.24.
Grafton was up 8c at €11.11.
Following news that Ryanair had extended its deadline for Aer Lingus shareholders to accept its takeover offer, Aer Lingus slipped 2c to €2.72.
Ryanair fell 3c to €9.60. Its passenger number figures for November were up on last year, but its load factor was down.
