Elton plans oddball alien movie

Elton John and his partner David Furnish are planning to produce an unusual sci-fi movie which mixes aliens with Jane Austen characters.

Elton John and his partner David Furnish are planning to produce an unusual sci-fi movie which mixes aliens with Jane Austen characters.

Bosses at the couple's Rocket Films production company have given them the greenlight to start work on 'Pride & Predator', a horror picture, in which an extraterrestrial spacecraft lands in genteel 18th century Britain.

Confirming the news, Furnish says: "It felt like a fresh and funny way to blow apart the done-to-death Jane Austen genre by literally dropping this alien into the middle of a costume drama, where he stalks and slashes to horrific effect."

Elton will supervise the film's soundtrack and executive produce the movie, which is due to start filming in London later this year
