Jadalee will bypass next week’s totesport Ebor but he will be seen in action in The Sportsman Newspaper Geoffrey Freer Stakes at Newbury on Saturday.
Marcus Tregoning’s charge, who does still hold an entry in the Ladbrokes Great Voltigeur Stakes at York, is one of seven runners in this weekend’s Group Three contest.
Tregoning has an outstanding record in the Geoffrey Freer, having saddled Mubtaker to three consecutive victories from 2002 to 2004.
Godolphin’s in-form team will be represented by recent Newmarket winner Guadalajara, while Queen’s Vase runner-up Galient is the mount of Philip Robinson.
Emma Lavelle’s versatile gelding Self Defense finished third behind Lochbuie in last year’s renewal and he will take his chance along with Brian Meehan’s consistent four-year-old Admiral’s Cruise.
The John Dunlop-trained Munsef and Jamie Poulton’s Tiger Tiger are also engaged at the Berkshire venue.
