OutKast to reform for 40-date world tour

OutKast have announced a 40-date world festival tour.

Andre 3000 and Big Boi are making their live comeback headlining Coachella Festival in California in April, which will reportedly be the start of their world tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of their debut album, 'Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik'.

In a statement, Big Boi said: "It's truly an honour to celebrate 20 years and still be free to do music the way we choose.

"Don't just think outside the box, know that there is no box. I'm looking forward to rocking the stage with Bro Ski and to all he fans - stank you smelly much, this is for y'all! (sic)"

According to Pitchfork, they will play Coachella alongside Muse and Arcade Fire at Empire Polo Fields in Indio and could be set to perform another headline slot at New York's Governors Ball festival, which takes place in June on Randall's Island.

Andre 3000 added: "And imagine, all we wanted to do was rap! I am thankful to have been a part of a group that allowed me to explore anything that came to mind and have fun doing it.

"Returning to the stage together is the most exciting way for us to thank everyone for their 20 years of supporting OutKast."

In 2007, the band went on hiatus to focus on their solo careers and have not performed together since 2004.

Coachella's Twitter account posted a photograph of the full line-up last week, along with message: "Share it like a polaroid picture! OutKast, Muse, Arcade Fire + more #Coachella. (sic)", in reference to OutKast's hit song 'Hey Ya' from their 2003 album 'The Love Below'.
