Dubliners spend more time on the telephone that anyone else in the country, according to a survey carried out by eircom.
The company said people in Dublin spent an average of six hours and eight minutes on their landline phones every month.
The next-most-talkative counties were identified as Meath, Monaghan, Kildare and Cork, while people in Wexford, Carlow, Waterford, Roscommon and Mayo were found to spend the least amount of time on the phone.
Eircom said its average customer nationally made 86 calls every month, totalling five hours and 35 minutes.
