Twelve people were killed when a car bomb exploded near the offices of a mobile phone company in western Baghdad today, an Iraqi army official has said.

Twelve people were killed when a car bomb exploded near the offices of a mobile phone company in western Baghdad today, an Iraqi army official has said.

Army Brigadier General Ali Fathal, who is responsible for security in the western Baghdad area, said that 10 people were also wounded in the attack.

The blast took place outside a mobile phone office but it was not clear if the office was the target.
