'Big Brother' housemate in hospital

'Big Brother' contestant Keeley was being treated in hospital today after she was forced to leave the house following a nasty fall – and could be out for another day.

The travel agent hurt her ankle yesterday during the weekly “save and replace” task in which nominated housemates take part.

Keeley was dressed as a spider and was trying to climb out of a giant bath.

But after damaging her ankle, she was carried to the diary room by fellow contestants Dave and John James.

At first she was treated on the spot but her injuries were more severe than first thought and she was later shuttled to hospital where she spent the night.

A spokeswoman for the show said: “Keeley spent the night in hospital to receive treatment for an injury she sustained on her ankle.

“Keeley will continue to receive treatment today and possibly tomorrow. Keeley and 'Big Brother' producers will discuss if she feels able to return to the show.”

Her fall meant last night’s task was cancelled and the three nominated housemates Keeley, Corin and Rachel will all face the public vote this week.

In a further blow for the show, presenter Davina McCall has had to pull out of an appearance this evening after being caught up in air chaos.

The star had been due to take part in the show but has now been unable to return to the UK.

Channel 4 said today: “Producers have done all they can to get Davina to Elstree to present the extended show tonight, but due to a strike by French air traffic controllers it was not possible for Davina to get back in time.”

Instead the show will include highlights from the past 24 hours inside the house.

Yesterday’s incident followed further high drama when Caoimhe quit the show.

The Irish student walked out after almost six weeks in the house and two weeks after her close friend Shabby quit.

But within hours, they were joined by a new temporary housemate – Andrew Stone, best known to TV viewers for his appearances in Sky1’s 'Pineapple Dance Studio'.

He has joined to help housemates with a task based around hit TV show 'Glee'.
