Australia’s Adam Scott has taken the lead at the Omega Hong Kong Open after carding a seven-under-par opening round in Fanling today.

Scott carded seven birdies and an eagle, but two bogeys kept him on seven under, one shot clear of Ireland’s Paul McGinley, Spain’s Jose Maria Olazabal and local favourite James Stewart.

Sweden’s Jarno Sandelin, who won last week’s BMW Asian Open, is on three under par.
