Knight Legend has been given the go-ahead to take on the likes of Kauto Star and The Listener in the JNwine.com Champion Chase at Down Royal on Saturday.
Jessica Harrington’s charge ran out an impressive winner of the Grade Two Gowran Park Champion Chase on his seasonal reappearance earlier this month.
And while the County Kildare-based handler admits the nine-year-old faces his toughest task to date at the weekend, Harrington hopes Knight Legend can run into a place.
“Knight Legend is very well and he is a definite runner at Down Royal,” she said.
“He did it very well on his reappearance and obviously he is now stepping back up to three miles.
“But he has ran well over the trip before and we will just see how it goes.
“It looks as though it’s going to be a very hot race but our horse is going well and if he can pick up a bit of prize-money, I would be delighted.”
