US airport evacuated after unauthorised entry

Three terminals at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport were evacuated tonight after a man failed to stop at a security gate, officials said.

Three terminals at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport were evacuated tonight after a man failed to stop at a security gate, officials said.

“We had someone in the process of going through a security checkpoint and he kept going,” said Ed Martelle, a spokesman for the Transportation Security Administration. ”He’s somewhere in the A concourse.”

The breach caused officials to evacuate the A concourse and two adjoining terminals.

“We are shutting down and evacuating and rescreening everyone who is in concourse A, B and C,” he said. “It’s going to take a while” before passengers are allowed back inside.

DFW is the third-busiest US airport, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

A DFW terminal was evacuated in June when a man entered a secure area without being screened.

That terminal was closed for slightly more than an hour, and 41 flights were delayed.

In the June incident, the man mistakenly went through a revolving door from baggage claim into the airport’s secured area without being screened, officials said.
