Exeter have been forced to abandon their three races over fences on Wednesday due to hard ground.
After only two millimetres of rain within the last three weeks, course officials have been left with no option but to stage an all-hurdle card.
“We lost one meeting in January due to waterlogging and at one point we had eight inches of snow on the track – I think it is going to be one of those years,” said Barry Johnson, clerk of the course.
“The BHA had provisionally created three extra hurdle races last week and preliminary entries have already been made for those races.
“We’ll pull the plug on the chases today and the hurdle races will all be declared tomorrow.
“The going on the hurdle track is firm, good to firm in places and we are watering to maintain that.”
