Mel Gibson is warning parents to think twice before allowing their children go and see his movie, The Passion Of The Christ. It’s rated R in the States, which means children under 17 are not allowed to see the film unsupervised.

The film covers the last hours in the life of Christ and many people have found the graphically brutal depiction of the crucifixion to be highly disturbing and harrowing.

“Some people in churches argue that you can take people younger than 17 to see it, but I would say that kids have to be under parental supervision because it is so hard.” He adds that he is glad so many young Christians are inspired by the movie.
