House price increase in Ireland highest in EU for first quarter
House prices in Ireland rose by almost 17% in the first three months of the year - the biggest increase in the EU.
The latest figures from Eurostat show the next highest annual increases were recorded in Sweden, Hungary and the UK.
The average increase in house prices in the euro area was just under 1%
The largest falls were in Latvia, Italy and France.
