Dr Dre has confirmed his comeback single will be released in the next few weeks.
The rapper announced the track, 'Under Pressure', which features Jay-Z is complete and will be released soon, as a precursor to his new album ‘Detox’ – which has been ten years in the making – which he has also confirmed will be released this year.
Dre told US news channel CNBC: “Hopefully, we’ll be releasing 'Under Pressure' in the next two weeks or so, and I’m definitely gonna be putting the album out this year, finally.
“I think everyone is gonna be happy with it. I’m just trying to finish this record, finally get it done, get it out and start promoting it.”
Aside from the lead single featuring Jay-Z, currently the world’s biggest rap star, ‘Detox’ is said to boast an impressive guest cast, including contributions from artists including Nas, T.I., Lil Wayne and R. Kelly.
Dre has previously said about the long gestation period for his third album: "I'm on my slow creep right now, but then I'm gonna come hit 'em with the tsunami."
Dre has also previously stated the record will be his final album.
