Compass Group has announced half year turnover up 6% to £6,191m (€8,994m) but profits have slipped 7.9%.
Turnover continues to be driven by new business wins and high levels of contract retention in the Group’s primary contract catering business.
In Ireland, Compass Group experienced strong performance in all its sectors for the first six months of the financial year.
Eurest, the Group’s main business and industry catering division, reported new business gains of over €5m in total turnover, and strengthened its Irish client portfolio with a number of leading blue chip company names, including: Fota Wildlife Park and the Defence Forces.
In Ireland, Eurest operates at 160 locations in Ireland, and employs over 1500 people.
Commenting, Mike Malloy, managing director of Compass Group’s business in Ireland said: “Business continues to remain strong in Ireland, with turnover from new business wins exceeding €5m for the first six months of this financial year.
"We believe that the market in which we operate will continue to offer up potential for us to continue to grow our client base throughout the country.”
