Missing teenager Danielle Jones was seen making a sudden about turn while walking to a bus stop on the morning she vanished, police revealed.

Missing teenager Danielle Jones was seen making a sudden about turn while walking to a bus stop on the morning she vanished, police revealed.

Three schoolboys saw Danielle, 15, double back on herself shortly after leaving her home in Coronation Avenue, East Tilbury, Essex, on Monday June 18.

Danielle was seen walking along a street called Hayle after leaving home shortly before 8am, a police spokeswoman said.

‘‘Three schoolboy witnesses saw Danielle suddenly turn around and walk back along Hayle,’’ said the spokeswoman. ‘‘The boys assumed she was going to a nearby shop. There have been no positive sightings since.’’

The BBC crime programme Crimewatch is due to stage a reconstruction of Danielle’s journey on Monday. An actress will play the part of Danielle. The reconstruction is due to be broadcast two days later (Wednesday July 18).

Police, who say they are convinced that Danielle was abducted, are continuing to search a water-filled quarry near her home as well as areas of open ground.

Detectives have urged anyone who might have seen Danielle getting into a vehicle or speaking to anyone on the morning she vanished to come forward.
