Band Aid co-founder Bob Geldof will be honoured at next year's Brit Awards with a lifetime achievement award.
The former Boomtown Rats singer will receive his award at the London show in February.
The announcement comes as a new version of the Band Aid record is to be recorded for charity this Christmas.
Previous winners of the prize include Sting, U2, David Bowie, Eurythmics, Rod Stewart, Elton John, Van Morrison, The Who and Duran Duran.
