8,709 new cars sold last month

There were 8,709 new cars sold last month, a rise of 3% on figures for the same period last year.

There were 8,709 new cars sold last month, a rise of 3% on figures for the same period last year.

New statistics from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI) show Irish drivers have snapped up 56,676 new cars so far this year, up 12% on last year.

There was a year-on-year rise of 39% in the number of Light Commercial Vehicles registered in April, with a 62% hike in the number of HGVs.
