With Kill Bill Volume II not due to be released until February, Quentin Tarantino is already working on his next film, the World War II epic Inglorious Bastards.

It will be his homage to the spaghetti Westerns he grew up watching, he tells the Hollywood Reporter.

“Inglorious Bastards is truly spaghetti Western, just set in Nazi-occupied France,” he said.

“I’m going to find places that actually resemble, in one way or another, the Spanish locales they had in spaghetti Westerns – no man’s land with American soldiers and French peasants and French resistance and Nazi occupiers.

“But I won’t be period specific about the movie. I’m not just going to play a lot of Edith Piaf and Andrews Sisters. I can have rap and I can do whatever I want.”
