The Co Meath village of Ballivor is set to lose a major employer today when the NEC factory closes its doors for the final time.
Three hundred full-time and 50 part-time staff are being laid off by the company, which is transferring its operations to the Far East.
It says high operating costs left it with no decision but to leave Co Meath.
The workers are set to receive a redundancy package amounting to 7.75 weeks pay per year of service.
