Thousands of visitors have been pouring into Butterfield Estate today to attend the Tullamore Show & FBD National Livestock Show.
Around 60,000 attendees are expected on the 250-acre site for the event, Ireland's largest one-day show.
Visitors will have access to over 700 trade stands across a wide range of businesses, including motoring, machinery, household, gardening, landscaping and financial.
Six catering villages and three live entertainment stages have been set up to cater for the vast number of visitors.
Fashion shows, cookery demonstrations by Neven Maguire and over 1,000 classes are among some of the other highlights of the day.
"The vast majority of people who work on the show do so on a voluntary basis," Freda Kinnarney, Tullamore Show Secretary told Denis Lehane in the run-up to the event.
"On the day of the show, we will have 600 volunteers working on site.
"It might be a student looking for a bit of work experience, it might be the man I just mentioned."
More than 2,000 live animals will be contesting the FBD National Livestock Show across 23 competition rings.
Ireland's premier agricultural event, the show attracts the best cattle, sheep, and equine breeders from all over the country, alongside entrants for its other 1,000+ competitions, with a total prize fund of €175,000.
“FBD have been involved with Tullamore Show from the very beginning," Ms Kinnarney told Denis Lehane.
"This year, FBD are on board with us as title sponsors of the National Livestock Show. We now have the Tullamore Show and the FBD National Livestock Show."
“We are absolutely delighted with that involvement. FBD gel well with us."
She added: “It’s a privilege to be working with FBD, and we look forward to doing so for many years to come.”
