Channon singing from the rooftops

Mick Channon’s Cherry Hinton winner Please Sing is to be stepped up in class for a crack at the Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh on August 31.

Mick Channon’s Cherry Hinton winner Please Sing is to be stepped up in class for a crack at the Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh on August 31.

After an impressive first-time-out victory at Leicester, the Royal Applause filly was well-fancied for the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot.

That all proved too much for her but she showed her true ability with a fine turn of foot to land the Newmarket Group Two in good style.

“I’m delighted with Please Sing, she’s a good filly,” said Channon.

“Everyone knows how strongly I fancied her for the Albany but something must have been amiss that day.

“We’ve gone close to winning the Moyglare with Silca Chiave and I see no reason why Please Sing won’t put up a good show,” he told his website, www.mickchannon.tv.
