A video of a Japanese politician sobbing during a press conference has gone viral.
Ryutaro Nonmura, 47, was trying to apologise for his role in an expenses scandal when the tears started. And kept on coming.
During the three-hour press conference, Nonomura is seen banging his fists on the table and wailing while tears run down his face.
The original video has been viewed more than 2 million times.
Nonomura is accused of misusing official expenses - according to media reports, he spent the money on almost 200 trips he made to four locations in one year, including 106 visits to the same hot spring resort, all without producing a receipt or a report.
In the press conference, he defends himself through his tears:
"I ran for office to change the world, and so I gave everything I had to appeal to the public."
Riiiiight.... We call crocodile tears.
