Imperial Stride continues to please the Godolphin team as the finishing touches are put to his preparation for the Caulfield and Melbourne Cups.
The five-year-old son of Indian Ridge arrived fit and well in Australia towards the end of last week and immediately entered quarantine at Sandown Racecourse.
He moved well in a routine piece of exercise at the racecourse this morning and is reported to have quickly made himself at home in his temporary lodgings Down Under.
“Imperial Stride moved really well and is feeling good, having recovered well from the journey from England,” Mark Childs told www.godolphin.com.
“Everything went as planned. We went out and had a jog for four furlongs, a little walk and then a mile canter.
“We landed at 3pm local time on Friday and both Imperial Stride and Kerashan, who travelled with him, have settled in fine and are eating normally.”
Kerrin McEvoy was in the saddle when Imperial Stride made a winning reappearance at Goodwood last month and will resume the partnership ahead of the Caulfield Cup on October 21.
The Australian jockey is set to put the entire through his paces in a preparatory five-furlong piece of work next Tuesday.
