It was a mixed day for the Irish contingent involved in the Dubai Desert Classic today.
Ernie Els continued his excellent form by winning one of the richest events on the European Tour calendar with a final score of -16.
Darren Clarke was best place of the Irish with his score of -6 leaving him in joint seventh place while amateur, Michael Hoey, capped off a wonderful tournament as highest placed amateur with a score of -5 leaving him tied for 12th.
Padraig Harrington however had a disappointing final round and finished well down the field on four under par, tied for 20th.
