Labour calls for urban centre 'wi-fi zones'
The Government is being urged to set up public-access broadband areas in urban centres across the country.
The so-called "wi-fi" zones would allow anyone to access the internet from their mobile phone or laptop.
Labour Communications Spokesman Tommy Broughan, who pointed out that the schemes are already widespread in the US, has called for a pilot programme to be set up in Dublin's Stephen's Green.
