ISEQ's new year takes off with transport companies

Irish Continental made the day’s biggest gain, closing up €1.10 (7.9%) at €15.00.

Ryanair was up 22c (2.1%) at €10.66.

Business support services company DCC closed up €1.05 (4.1%) at €26.80.

C&C finished the day at €13.91, up 46c or 3.4%. IAWS closed up 21c (1.1%) at €19.61.

It was a mixed day for the financials. Allied Irish Bank was up 71c (3.2%) at €23.21. Irish Life and Permanent closed up 20c at €21.10.

However, Anglo Irish Bank slipped 13c to €15.58 and Bank of Ireland was down 1c at €17.49.

FBD closed down 33c at €40.97.

Kingspan gained 41c (2%) to €20.48, while CRH, the busiest share of the day, fell 3c to €31.51.
