The video for Hozier’s hit song Take Me To Church has just been nominated for two prestigious MTV Video Music Awards.

The critically-acclaimed music video, directed by Irish video production company Feel Good Lost, has been nominated in two categories.

Also nominated in Best Rock Video are Florence and the Machine for ‘Ship to Wreck’, Arctic Monkeys for ‘Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High’, Fall Out Boy for ‘Uma Thurman’ and Walk the Moon for ‘Shut Up And Dance’.

Hozier’s video faces similarly stiff competition in the Best Direction category – the other nominees are Taylor Swift ft Kendrick Lamar for ‘Bad Blood’, Mark Ronson ft Bruno Mars for ‘Uptown Funk’, Kendrick Lamar for ‘Alright’ and Childish Gambino for ‘Sober’.

Brendan Canty, owner of and director at Feel Good Lost tweeted the news today.

The MTV VMAs will be hosted by Miley Cyrus this year, and will take place on August 30.
