Damien Richardson is the new Cork City manager in succession to Pat Dolan.
Richardson, who managed Cork for 18 months in 1993 and 1994, has signed a two-season deal with the club and will take over immediately.
He was interviewed by club chairman Brian Lennox this morning and met the players this evening after the team had beaten Limerick 3-0 at Garryduff.
His first task will be to lift the squad’s spirits after the turmoil of the last few days that saw Dolan sacked and a number of players publicly voice their disappointment at the decision.
Meanwhile, Cork have accepted a €10,000 bid from Derry City for striker Stephen O’Flynn. The former Limerick hit man is expected to meet Derry City boss on Friday.
