Wayne Rooney will pledge his future to Everton by signing a three-year contract on his 17th birthday.
Rooney is on a scholarship with Everton and has already told David Moyes he will sign professional terms when he is eligible when he turns 17 in October.
Moyes is delighted by Rooney's vow of loyalty to the club and he has already received several calls from around Europe inquiring about the striker's availability.
Rooney has been the undoubted star of Everton's pre-season campaign and he has scored seven goals in three games, including two hat-tricks.
This has prompted the normally-taciturn Moyes to claim the youngster can become the best player in the club's history.
Rooney was on the bench for Everton's Premiership match against Southampton towards the end of last season and if he had come on he would have broken Joe Royle's record as the club's youngest player.
He cannot now beat Royle, but he could well make his debut in Everton's opening match of the season and Moyes has said he is firmly part of his plans for the new campaign.
