Richard Hannon has ruled out supplementing his impressive Prix de la Foret winner Paco Boy for the Breeders’ Cup Mile.
Such was his authority over his rivals at the weekend in the seven-furlong Group One, that a tilt at taking on the specialist milers was mooted.
However, Hannon is content to bide his time with the Desert Style colt and is looking forward to taking in all the major races over a mile next season.
“There is no doubt that he is definitely getting better and next year he will stay a mile well, he’s only three now and next year he could be taking in the best mile races,” said Hannon.
“We’ve knocked out the Breeders’ Cup now, I don’t think he’d want to go round there on very firm ground so we can look forward to a whole season next year with him.
“It was a hell of a time too, the best for 16 years or something. He’s not going backwards he’s going forwards,” he told At The Races.
