One of the best TV drama series of the Seventies featured the adventures of James Onedin (a brilliant Peter Gilmore), a cunning shipping master operating in the cut-throat world where business rivalry onshore and occasional mutiny onboard left poor old James at his wit’s end — but not for long.
The Onedin Line Series 1 (Classic TV, €59.99) was set in 19th century Liverpool, featuring the magnificent Charlotte Rhodes.
Despite the series’ age, it still looks very well.
