Israeli helicopter gunships are reported to have killed five Palestinians, two of whom were children, in an overnight strike.

The incident occurred in the village of Tubas near the West Bank town of Jenin. It is understood that Israeli forces fired two missiles into a Palestinian car. The two children killed in the attack, aged nine and 10, are thought to have been bystanders.

Medical officials identified one of the passengers in the car as a militant linked to the al-Alqsa Martyrs Brigades. The others killed are thought to have been two 15-year-old boys.
