A Mega Millions lottery jackpot worth an estimated US$540m (€488m) has been won by one lucky ticket-holder in the US.
The sole jackpot-winning ticket in Friday night's Mega Millions draw was sold in Indiana, said Virginia Lottery spokesman John Hagerty.
The consortium of lottery organisations that runs Mega Millions said a ticket matching all five white balls and the yellow ball would win an estimated $540m.
The winning numbers were white balls 8, 19, 20, 55, 73 and yellow ball five.
An estimated $1bn worth of tickets have been sold since the last jackpot-winning ticket was drawn in early March. It was the longest Mega Millions run without a winner.
Tickets are sold in 43 states, the District of Columbia and the US Virgin Islands.
