Finland’s, Tapio Laukkanen in a Subaru, has a lead of one minute and 31 seconds with just one stage remaining in the Answercall Direct Ulster Rally, a counting round of both the Toshiba Computers Irish Tarmac and Pirelli British Championships.
Derek McGarrity(Subaru WRC) with a pair of fastest times has reeled in Jari Matti Latvala (Ford Focus) to moved into second.
Another driver on a late charge is Yorkshire’s, Jonny Milner (Toyota Corolla (WRC), he is now fourth, he also posted two fastest times to move ahead of Austin MacHale (Subaru WRC).
The Super 1600 category lead has changed hands with Northern Ireland’s, Kris Meeke (Opel Corsa)
overhauling the MG ZR Gwyndaf Evans and also taking sixth on general classification.
The top ten also includes Evans in seventh, Maurice Gass (Subaru), Dougi Hall (Mitsubishi), Andrew Stewart (Mitsubishi), who heads the Group N category from the similar car of Roy White.
Shaun Gallagher is on course to win the Peugeot 206 Super Cup as he leads fellow Irish driver, Gareth MacHale.
