The dollar stabilised against its major counterparts following positive US job market data in the US today.
Earlier the euro went as high as $1.2436, the fifth consecutive new record high.
European officials have said they weren't alarmed by the currency's appreciation to date, indicating (European) intervention will not be likely in the short term.
