“The latest forecast I have seen suggests it will not go below freezing tonight, which is good news, but we will be hoping to avoid any snow or rain,” said clerk of the course Andrew Cooper.

“The ground down the back straight isn’t too bad but it is pretty testing in some other places.

“I am grateful we have only got some small fields today. We will be moving the bends wherever possible to create fresh ground for racing to give the meeting every chance of going ahead.”
