Bohemians v St Patrick’s Athletic team news

St Patrick’s Athletic could go 11 points clear at the top of the eircom League of Ireland Premier Division if they beat Bohemians tonight at Dalymount Park, kick-off 8.00pm.

Kevin Hunt, John Paul Kelly and Mark Rossiter are available again for Bohs, but Deane Pooley, Harpal Singh and Fergal Harkin remain sidelined with injuries. For Pat's, Joseph Ndo is out, and Stephen Paisley looks doubtful.

"I think this game hands us an ideal opportunity," said Bohs boss Sean Connor.

"I'm not saying it's a must-win, but we certainly mustn't get beaten. If we do win it, I think we do have title credentials. It would put us four points ahead of Cork, and even though they've games in hand they've got to win them and squeeze them into their fixture list as they are in Europe.

"It would also put pressure on Drogheda who suddenly go from being comfortable in second to dropping to third and they'll need a win (in Sligo) tomorrow to put themselves back up there again."

Alan Kirby may miss out for St Pat’s having been substituted after 54 minutes in Friday night’s victory over Sligo Rovers.

Stephen Paisley and Joseph Ndo will definitely not start for Saints as both are still struggling with injuries.

"The prize every week is to say 'let's stay top by Monday morning' and we've got that," said Saints boss John McDonnell.

"All we can do is to try to win our games. I wouldn't look at it and say we're allowed a slip-up. We'll keep our foot on the gas as much as we can.

"Bohs have put together a good squad and, if they put a few wins together, they'll shoot up the table. But it's not out of our reach to go and get something at Dalymount."
