Photographs of Victoria Beckham clad only in a bra and knickers and heels were unveiled in a new advertising campaign for Emporio Armani.

The former Spice Girl was following in the footsteps of her footballer husband, who famously stripped down to his underwear for the same fashion label in 2007.

The 34-year-old mother of three was reportedly paid £12m (€13.3m) for the campaign.

In one shot Ms Beckham is shown reclining on a carpet in a polkadot bra and knickers with her eyes closed, while in another she posed in black lingerie on an unmade bed.

Designer Giorgio Armani hailed Ms Beckham as: “a stylish and intriguing woman”, adding: “Great underwear is alluring and provocative, and so I wanted to work with someone who would make a real impression.”
