Lewsey who bagged a brace against Italy, ran in at the corner to reply after England had just pushed themselves back into the game.

Jonny Wilkinson converted the try.

Scotland had equalised thanks to two penalties from Chris Patterson.

Patterson scored his second penalty after Jason Robinson was adjudged to have body-checked a Scottish player.

Robinson then became the third player to be sin-binned. Robinson got a yellow card after 19 minutes. Already two Scottish players have been yellow-carded.
