Officials at Hexham have called a precautionary 7.30am inspection ahead of tomorrow’s meeting.

Clerk of the course James Armstrong said: “We’re absolutely fine and raceable, we’ve had a really nice drying day. It’s just that we are forecast quite heavy rain overnight, with the possibility of up to half an inch, so it is best to flag that up.

“It is purely precautionary in light of the forecast.”
