Software giant Sun Microsystems has settled a lawsuit it brought against rival Microsoft three years ago.
Sun alleged Microsoft infringed upon a licensing agreement to use Sun's Java programming technology.
Under the agreement, Microsoft will no longer license from Sun any current or new versions of Java, which is a programming language used in products ranging from cell phones to large corporate servers.
Microsoft will also pay Sun $20m (£13.7m) and be barred from using Sun's "Java Compatible" trademark.
