Rocker Alanis Morissette was horrified to discover the amount of backstage conmen during her years of touring, after meeting a Darius Rucker impersonator.
The Ironic singer reveals the unusual experience in her upcoming reality-based sitcom We're With The Band, based on her own on the road exploits and experiences, and has persuaded Oscar-winning actor Tom Hanks to co- produce the show with her.
Morissette believes her many crazy touring experiences are a goldmine for We're With The Band.
She says: "In 1996, the lead singer of Hootie And The Blowfish (Rucker) asked to come backstage… After he left I turned to my bandmates and said: 'That wasn't him. I swear it wasn't him.'
"It turns out that this guy would find his way backstage with all these bands by saying that. We wound up running into the real Darius in Nashville about a week later.
"Another example would be someone pretending to be blind in order to come backstage, and when they get backstage you realise that they're not."
