A handful of slightly puzzled regulars of a tiny English country pub were the first to hear songs from a new muscial about the rise and fall of former UK Home Secretary David Blunkett
The show, which is still in a “development stage“, charts the life of the Sheffield Brightside MP with an emphasis on his doomed relationship with the Spectator publisher, Kimberly Quinn.
Its writer, journalist Ginny Dougray, described the production, which is heading for a preview in London in April and then the West End, as “Dangerous Liasons set in the court of The Spectator“.
