Sharon Stone has Faye Dunaway to thank for her poise after the acting legend gave the then newcomer valuable advice at the Basic Instinct premiere.
A terrified Stone called her idol and asked her to accompany her to the 1992 thriller's premiere because she couldn't find a date and was nervous about meeting the press.
Stone recalls: "It was just becoming this huge, huge thing and I just thought: 'I'll call Faye.' I called Faye and I'm like: 'Can you take me to this premiere because I'm by myself and I don't know what to do.' She was like: 'Sure kid, I'll take you.'
"We get in the car and we go in this huge auditorium and all the press is there and it's just this big, big, big thing and the movie shows, the theatre ends and there's this huge uproar, and people start cheering and clapping.
"The press just rushes in and I'm like: 'Oh my God, I don't know what to do,' and Faye grabs me and stands me up and I'm like: 'What should I do?' and she, like, puts her elbow in my back to make me stand up really straight and she whispers in my ear: 'You should smile because they can all kiss your a** because you're a big star now, baby.'"
