“He’s working away and with the sun on his back he looks strong and looks well,” Harrington told At The Races.

“I’m very happy with him and it was always the plan to go straight to Newmarket.

“He has American owners and their aim would be to get to the Breeders’ Cup this year, so it’s going to be a long season.

“I’m just hoping I have him well enough for the Guineas first time up. We’ll just see how things go, but it’s very exciting.”

Harrington also has a live contender for the 1000 Guineas in Laughing Lashes, a Group Two winner last year and second in the Moyglare Stud Stakes.

“She’s very good and she’s grown a good bit over the winter,” the trainer continued.

“She’s a big filly, I’m very happy with her and she’s going straight for the Guineas.

“She’s only really now beginning to fill out and mature.”

Newmarket’s two-day Craven meeting kicks off on Wednesday and director of racing Michael Prosser could not be happier with course conditions.

“The course is possibly three to four weeks in front of last year in terms of growth. It has been a particularly dry spring so far and we have recorded approximately seven millimetres of rainfall in the last six weeks,” said Prosser.

“To counteract this dry spell we have irrigated the course on three occasions, applying 10mm each time. Further to this we have utilised horticultural fleece in certain areas to stimulate seed germination and added growth.

“We may have to look at further irrigation on Tuesday but having watered the course on Saturday, we can wait until nearer the time before making that decision.

“From Tuesday onwards, the temperatures are forecast to become more in line with the seasonal average which is 14C. There is the possibility of light showers on Monday, while Tuesday is likely to be mainly dry but cooler.

“As for our two racedays, Wednesday is forecast to be breezy with possible light showers and Thursday may see light drizzle first thing ahead of a brighter afternoon.”
