A Polish man lived in a Brazilian airport for 18 days.

London-based Robert Wladyslaw Parzelski waited for a friend to meet him at São Paulo airport for more than two weeks, but the mystery guy never arrived leaving him waiting inside the building without a word of Portuguese to his name nor a return flight.

Robert set up camp on a concrete bench inside the airport and cleaners even started bringing him daily servings of water, yoghurt and cigarettes.

It later emerged the car electrician had been sent to pick up two Brazilian telephones to bring back to London.

He told newspapers from the South American country that he did not know why the phones were required and later left the airport without the communication devices, despite spending 18 days there.
