Basketball Ireland have announced a one-year sponsorship deal, with Nivea for the men's basketball SuperLeague.

Karl Donnelly general manager of the newly-named Nivea for Men SuperLeague, welcomed the deal.

He said: "We see this as a partnership with mutual opportunities in developing our businesses and we look forward to a successful year ahead.

"We are determined to establish ourselves as the premier indoor and winter based sporting league in Ireland. Together we look forward to running some innovative promotions, not just for the SuperLeague teams but for followers of the SuperLeague also."

The NIVEA for Men SuperLeague is played over a six month period from September until March and the 2004/05 season is already up and running.

A total of 12 teams compete, with between six and ten games played every week, and the season culminates in an end of season playoff.

Nivea for Men Brand manager, Lynn Harford said, "This major involvement with basketball in Ireland perfectly complements the Nivea for Men brand."
