It shows a 2-year-old girl trying to wake up her mother after she apparently overdosed.
The devastating video is a reminder of what Massachusetts' drug abuse epidemic looks like.
An unconscious mother, a terrified toddler in her pyjamas and toys littered across the floor, these are troubling images that police say are common.
There has been some outrage online as to why the person recording the video didn't try to help the distressed toddler or her mother, but the Eagle Tribune reports that after 911 was called the store manager took the video for protection.
“To put a child in such a situation shows how strong the addiction is," Lawrence Police Capt. Roy Vasque tells the Eagle-Tribune.
WCVB reports that it's likely the woman will face charges and that her daughter may be taken into the care of the state.
